The focus of the KOPL team is to achieve sustainable practices in every aspect of the supply chain. In manufacturing, Kumar organic has embarked onto process improvement in core manufacturing by altering traditional processes and re-orienting towards more efficient energy saving processes that are sustainable as well as scalable.

1. Ecological responsibilities : Best in Class ETP & Eco friendly Boiler: 

KOPL possesses a Zero discharge facility – state of art ETP facility. Boiler Fuel Replacement: The steam generation necessary for production in factories of Kumar Organic uses Agro based briquettes instead of Furnace Oil thus eliminating Sulphur emission, conserving oil and contributing towards sustainable development.

2. Ecological responsibilities : Energy Saving production processes:

At KOPL, we have commercialized an improved and innovative process for Kopirox production. This innovative process has successfully reduced usage of solvents, processed water and also saved on usage of the chilling plant. 

The earlier process involved usage of huge volume of solvents like acetic acid, methanol, sodium methoxide solution and processed water generating huge effluents. Our improved process gave potential solutions to all the above-mentioned problems and thus saved on energy, reducing wastage. The process is unique and thus recognized by FICCI leading to prestigious Manufacturing Process Innovation Award in Chemicals sector for 2017.

3. Ecological responsibilities : Bio-transformation:

It is well known that emollients are widely used in cosmetics products for Skin care and Hair care products. However the uniqueness of KOPL process is that we use Bio-transformation instead of a synthetic route for production of emmolients thus re-confirming our   commitment for process improvement with view towards green technology.

Advantages of Biotransformation process : Green Technology, Dry reaction – (No solvent used), Single step reaction, Renewable  sources, Zero discharge (No ETP), Environment friendly.

4. Ecological responsibilities :Planting A New Tree every time!

We are conscious of our commitments along the value chain continuously strive to do sourcing and production responsibly. All our plants follow stringent Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) norms while adhering to ISO environment standards. 

Kumar Organic Products has been making conscious efforts at actively promoting the cause of building a greener plant. We have imbibed the culture of planning a new tree or sapling every time a new member joins the KOPL family. At KOPL, we have ritual of planning anew tree or sapling every time a new employee joins the KOPL family!

Planting a new sapling or tree not only makes our soil fertile, but also generates consciousness in our lives. At KOPL we believe that to protect our civilization and culture, then we must encourage planting trees and saplings . This practice instills a sense of responsibility towards Mother earth and establishes a much needed connect with the environment.

Every year, KOPL celebrates World Environment day by planting more and more saplings. This is observed at every unit of KOPL .We take pledge to protect our environment and reduce carbon footprint by reducing wastage, reduced usage of energy consuming appliances, plastics & increased usage of bio degradable products.

5. Ecological responsibilities :Tiger adoption

Welcome to our Tiger CSR Initiative! We're dedicated to the well-being of tigers in India, having adopted seven incredible tigresses across the nation.

In Mysore Zoo/Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, we care for two remarkable tigresses, one of whom is affectionately known as Manya. Meanwhile, in Bannerghatta Biological Park, Bengaluru, we support two royal Bengal tigers. At Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, Patna, our focus is on the beautiful tigress named Devi, and at Baroda Municipal Corporation Zoo, we ensure the welfare of the delightful Dharti.

Additionally, our efforts extend to Ganga, residing in the serene surroundings of Vanvihar National Park, Bhopal. Through our commitment, we strive to protect and conserve these magnificent creatures and their habitats.

6. Ecological responsibilities : Save Our Lakes!

KOPL supports the lake development activities in the city of Bangalore to increase ground water level. The earliest history of creation of lakes in and around the city is traced to the founders of Bangalore or Bengaluru –the Kempe Gowdas– in the Sixteenth century and later by the Wodeyars of Mysore Kingdom and the British. 

Most of the lakes and tanks were man made for purposes of drinking water, irrigation and fishing needs and they have also favourably influenced microclimate of the city. Most of the lakes have vanished due to encroachment and construction activity for urban infrastructure expansion. The city once had 280-285 lakes only 17 good lakes exist. This alarmig situation needs immediate attention and many voluntary bodies including corporate house have joined hands to save the ecology of the city. KOPL has contributions towards renovation of the Kallu Ballu Lake in Jigani Bangalore.
