The quest for innovation and the desire to anchor on natural science, has culminated in the conception of Biotech Centre.Self motivated at research, the state of art expertise is aimed at bio-actives from natural reserves. The centre focuses primarily on the growing segments of the cosmetic markets which are benefiting from the trend towards healthy and young skin, hair care, oral care and anti-bacterial.
Principal Domains:
Biotech Centre’s scientific efforts are focused towards principal domains:
Microbial Fermentation
Leveraging the fermentation technology, we are continuously researching and developing a range of microbial-derived products spanning cosmetic, pharmaceutical and neutraceutical ingredients. The processes we develop are robust and scalable.
Biotransformation
The ‘green’ synthesis route’ assumes a significant role in overcoming the inherent disadvantages of manufacturing by the Chemical synthesis route. The competence lies in the cost of biocatalyst and therefore it is very essential to develop processes which will successfully replace the existing chemical processes. To overcome this problem, enzymatic synthesis can be attractive as it is typically very selective and is performed at moderate temperatures and pressures. One of the driving forces for this research is the possibility of preparing synthetic wax esters which resemble naturally occurring waxes of commercial interest.
